Ric, I started the post and am thrilled you chimed in!  I certainly am interested in seeing your new offerings and agree with Grinch that 50# at 28" is a nice even number.  47# at 28" works also!

Hope 2012 sees you on the down hill slope and may God continue to bless!

Thanks again!

Ric,
Very glad to see you will continue to build bows. I love my Chinooks and will be keeping an eye out for a Thermal!

Hope things are turning around for you and continue to improve.

62" Thermal, Bocote and Osage,  52# @ 28",  I'm just saying you know!

   Take care.

Ted, I remember that bow! I owned it for a few years. The only reason I don't still own it is because I felt sorry for it. I started making my own bows and the poor thing just sat there, neglected. Sad...

Thank you Gene for contacting Ric and thank you Ric for the prompt response to the inquiry. I still have my three Marriah Thermal recurves and am actively shooting the 46#@26" one, even though I am only shooting 43#@25". Ric, all to often the short draw length and low draw weight shooter is left out in the cold in favor of the much longer draw lengths and much heavier draw weights. What I look for is a bowyer who can help me select the woods and design that will optimize bow performance and up my hunting success. By owning three of your bows you have to know that I place a lot of faith in the bows you make and have kept these bows for all of these years and still use them as my go to bows for hunting. What I need is a good one-piece or three piece takedown recurve that will perform well, say in the neighborhood of 42#@25". Good to hear from you Ric.

47-50 @ 29 with lots of bocote. I hope you make a few with a high wrist grip as well.

45-50#'s and 60-62"

bocote, mac and blk/white ebony, zebrawood, zircote, and any other wood that catches your eye. i'm sure it will be a beauty regardless..

Burnsie

I'm thinking if you kept them in the 45-55 @ 28 range and 60" you would capture a high percentage of Trad shooters and would make for quick sales.  Throw in an occasional lower/higher weight and some different draw lengths and you would have most covered.

Ric, 48 to 53 @ 28"  hope you have some of that canary wood laying around which looks good on chinook limbs with reddish cocobolo risers and that tasty antler horn accent and nock overlays,, Hint Hint 8^)

I wish there was a RELIABLE way of contacting Ric! All of the contact information I have received so far does not work. I have a lower limb on my Thermal recurve that he needs to look at and fix if possible.

Roger Norris

Does he still have his site up? I had a Marriah Chinook once, GREAT bow. I always wanted one of his recurves.
