I'm looking for something to simply protect my takedown from scratches when I put it in the back seat or the trunk.  I know I've seen felt sock-type cases but can't remember where.  I'm not trying to break the bank either.  Suggestions?

Thanks,

If you looking for a case when the bow is taken apart, I'd look at the Safari Tuff's, fantastic cases for the bow broken down...

A gun sock will alos fit over an unstrung recurve bow.

the "neet" T/D case is really nice 1/2" padded felt lined with limb socks and a pocket on the outside for limb bolts, alen wrench, string,
and the case has a full zipper, i paid 32 bucks for mine, i also havea safari tuff T/D case very good stuff!! 43 bucks 3rivers

If you go the diy route, it's not hard to sew up a simple case. I did mine with a couple rectangles of duck cloth and some thick batting in between to cushion it all. Add a closure (strip of leather and button in my case) and a pair of handles and you're done.
