I'm really liking this bow...got it a little over a month ago and last week had my first trad deer harvest w/ it. And yesterday was shooting it out back and shot my first robinhood. I know many folks on this forum have shot these multiple of times, but for me I'm floored by it. What a great bow and big thanks to Shawn at 3 Rivers for his help and advice.

Anyway I'm interested in hearing from other Daala owners and their experiences.

Nice shooting GW.  I haven't shot one but have heard good things about them.  Do you have the foam limbs or the wood core limbs?

Carbon foam limbs and the extra low grip set-up.

I have black max limbs on my riser, but it is a great shooting bow.  Very quiet, and accurate.  What grip do you have?

That was a fast reply.  Faster then I type.

I have the 21" ILF Daala. Love the versitilty of the bow. I use both longbow limbs (dryad epics), and the carbon wood daala recurve limbs.
The only negative is it's noiser than my other ILF risers (Tac & Sky)
Also waiting on 3 rivers to send a extra low grip...they were on backorder. I've used the other three and none of them are as nice again as my TAC and Sky...too big.
The Daala has a slight preformance edge and is slightly more accurate, for me, than my other two.
What are some tricks you others have found for maximum quiet?

xtrema312

My bow is just quiet from the start.  I do run at the 8-8.5" brace vs. the lower brace height noted in the online manual. I also use skinny strings.  Don't know how the standard string is, but I do have one in a box someplace.

Is the low grip a lot better than the std?  I have a std grip, but shoot mostly hybrid LB's so find the std grip not to my liking.

I currently have the low grip, still not my cup of tea (Too fat/bulky). The extra low grip is suppose to be a much thinner grip. I'm looking forward trying it out. Will post my take on it when it comes.

Besides the low grip I've also had the std and High grip. I preferred the High grip of the three...My rating of the three. 1-high grip 2-low grip 3-med/std grip. Still all three are too bulky for me.

I have an original DAS Generation 1 (the predecessor to the Dalaa). I am shooting Winex limbs on mine. I shot a new Dalaa this past summer for a couple weeks It had their carbon/foam limbs on it. I was the easiest bow I have ever had to set up and shoot accurately right away.

If you are having any noise issues at all with a Dalaa, then your string is probably to blame. Try an 8 strand D10 with padded loops. I use wool puff silencers, and mine is dead quiet even fairly light arrows.

I have had a bucnh of high dollar, extremely beautiful, as well as expensive custom bows in the past. The DAS is MY go to bow. As a matter of fact, it is the only bow I own now!

Dalaas are great bows!!!  I do not currently own one, but the ones that I did play with were super!!!  I killed my first "Trad" big game animal (a boar hog) with a DAS Dalaa 58"amo, 50#@28 recurve.  Mr. Sosa designed a great bow!!
Have a nice day!

I love mine (55# @ 28) and it has harvested a few animals so far and I am racking up the score with snowshoe hares this winter. I am shooting 55/75's out of it with Woodsman broadheads for big stuff and blunts for  small game. It pushes my blunts right thru the bunnies! It is the only bow I shoot now.  :archer2:

I have a walk around course on my place with 20 "3D" targets (home made) in the woods and I only shoot one or 2 arrows at each target because I ruin so many arrows if I shoot more at each one.
