Just wondering if I could get some feed back from those who have shot both...Grip, smoothness, etc....

I have a tall tines and I really like the bow. It is the most intuitive bow that I have shot to date. The checkering on the palm grip of the bow was a major reason why I choose a tall tines. It grips especially well during late hunting seasons when I wear a leather glove.

Another thing I notice after hundreds of arrows shot through my TT is that arrows still fly relatively well when I blunder a shot and my form falls apart. I think it goes back to how well I intuitively shoot the bow. For me its a great fit. Which is really important when you dish out the big bucks for custom bows.

Shot a Tall Tines longbow in Kalamazoo last January. Scary quiet, grip was perfect and it shot where you looked. Had a real hard time leaving without it. I'm sure there's one in my future.

I have not shot a Whip, but I love my TallTines longbow.  I knew I would be hunting with my TT recurves this fall, so my longbow has been in the shop waiting to get the grip checkered.  Then my black beauty will be ready to take a big black bear in Manitoba in the spring!

Just a thought but it's difficult comparing the one piece Toelke Whip to the very different TallTines 3 pc. take-down. Dan does make a 3 pc. take-down longbow/recurve called the Lynx which is a similar bow to the TallTines. Dan has made me a number of Whips and sent me a Lynx with both sets of limbs to shoot some 3d tounaments with last spring and i.m.h.o. you will not find finer d/r longbows.

Never shot a Talltines but the whip wins my vote. From what I've read both are fine bows and you won't lose on either bow.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

What is the web site for the Whip?

Thanks, Jason

Jason.  It is montana bows.  Check the sponsors listing here.  They are built by Dan Toelke and they are top notch...as are the tall tines!
