3 to 5 arrows and a bare shaft.

Often shoot the bare shaft in pouring down rain.

I have found, (in my case), that the more arrows  I carry, the less I bear down and concentrate.....at my very first 3D I carried a dozen and only came out with one......now I only carry four in my EFA bow quiver....still , I do break or lose one on occasion....  :archer2:

Most shoots make errant arrow retrieval easy. That being said, some are not so forgiving. Ask someone that has attended that shoot before.

Usually I carry 4.

Depends on the shoot. Some shoots have 5 pop-up targets at one shooting stake. I've gone to a shoot that had a walk-the-trail as part of the shoot, so we had to shoot 5 or 6 shots before pulling. Also, most shoots have shots at 30 yards or farther so that you may have to wait to after the shoot to find an arrow that missed. I usually take 8 to 10 arrows for large shoots and maybe 5 for 28 target shoots.

i always take my bow quiver exactly full.  i want 3d shoots to be practice for hunting, so i take the arrow from the same spot as i would if i were hunting, and the rest of the quiver is full. keeping it real!!
is it September yet??

5-9 depending on where I'm going, if I took three, I'd run out, if I take 9, I come back with 9

I usually take at least 6 for the warm-up bale.  Rarely takes more than one arrow to shoot a course, unless there's more than one target per stake.

'Course it varies with your shooting skill and how difficult the course is.  Take what you think you will need--better to have too many than not enough.

I follow the same approach. I usually bring six arrows for the warm-up range. At the start of the shoot, I pick one arrow (usually the one with the best fletching) and put it by itself in the top tube of my hip quiver. Unless there are more than one target per stake, that's the arrow I shoot for the entire course. I suppose that's just an old habit from years ago. I usually have a second arrow by itself in my second tube, with two each in tubes three and four.
