I shoot a 55@28" Tomahawk diamond series ss longbow with trad only carbon shafts spined for 340 with a 100 grain brass insert and a 175 grain point. This seems to shoot well for me and I get good flight. My only thing is after reading some post on here I think I may be overspined.

What is the length of your arrows and what is your draw length?

I shoot the a 55lb @28 Griffin with 340 spined arrows with the same insert and tip as you. I draw 29" and my arrows are 30.5"

some bows like stiffer arrows...my setup is bw pma2 56@28 i draw 28 with a 340 29 inch arrow and 225 grain bh...perfect flight

My arrow length is 30 & 1/4th inches and I pull a full 28" draw.

You most likely need about 300 grs of point weight in addition to your 100 gr adapter. You need to bare shaft and broadhead test to be sure.

Easy to prove to yourself. If a 175 grain field pt and a 175 gn BH are both on the 'mark' at both ~3 yards and ~25 yards, then you are golden.

Shoot what works for you! Split finger or three under, glove or tab, form issues? Many contributing factors.

Like they said, as long as your broadheads hit where you're looking, I wouldn't change anything.

I have bareshafted using O.L. Adcocks method and my shafts hit exactly where I look and group with my fletched arrows. My broadheads also group with my field tips (bareshaft or fletched)

If your arrows are hitting where you want, focus on hunting!

Next time you're around someone with 400's give 'em a try!  Perhaps they'd better, perhaps you're right on with your 340's..  There is a possibility that you're overspined, IMO..
But if your setup is working, hey, have fun !
