Was out this morning playing cat and mouse with three does and there was a point where the youngest was separated from Big Mama. She made some kind of call I never heard before, not a bleat or anything tragic sounding, it was more like a gentle calling the young doe to her, like a mewing sound.
Anyone ever here that.

Yes, I have heard that, on several occasions.Kinda cool being  that close to 'em huh?

Yes it was fun. The lead doe was just real subtle with her calling, even though the young one was only 40 yards away, Mama kept calling softly. Finally the young doe got the message.

Did it sound sort of like fast clicking?

LongStick64

Not at all, sort of like a low, slow, soft bleat.

Yup, last year on the backside of a tall grass field. The young one and her momma got seperated. She let out several undistressed bleats. Very soft sound.

Doe in distress is a great call... :)
