So trying to get to my states legal hunting weight of 45lbs. right now I am shooting 36lbs as my practice/form limbs. I am happy with my 20yds accurracy. I can hold initially for the first few draws for ten seconds and a bit more. After doing that for about 5 or 6 times in a row with little rest between I start to shake. Should I bump up in bow weight to 45lbs or is there a suggested weight increase you guys recommend? (ie 5 lbs at a time etc........) Trying to get to atleast 45lb by jan. for a nice deer/hog hunt I am going on.

longbowray

Go to 45 and just keep pull it and holding for 10 sec at a time be there and know time

What longbowray says but also draw and hold right handed and lefthanded. Good Luck on your deer/hog hunt.

I would try working out with 50# as much as possible, and then when you go back to 45#, it will be a piece of cake.

I suggest going to a gym and building up your upper body with chest, back, shoulder and arm exercises.

Since I'm a small framed skinny guy, this is what I did when I weighed 90 pounds when I was 16 years old. That was 45 years ago.
