Thought it would be interesting to start a *picture* thread for displaying our favorite trad bows paired with our primary cutting tools.  

I'll start - here's my Howard Hill Halfbreed with my somewhat more modern looking Kabar Becker BK9.





Clearly that's not the knife I'd grab for field dressing duties but it's the bees knees for building blinds, snap cutting branches and saplings, blazing trails (in the off season - heh) and hacking through sticker bushes to recover a downed animal.

Here's my favorite blade made by no other than toecutter. Not a brush blade but it opened up several deer last season, not only does it look cool it is also scary sharp. I'm hoping to perform some deer surgery with it this season

Here's another of my bow (same Hill) and the knife I am now using to clean game (pic is from late last season).  That's a Kabar Becker BK11 - love it!



Anyone have any good bow / tomahawk pics?  Bow / bowie pics, and so on?

More importantly to me (for cleaning deer anyway), when I hold it with my index finger along the spine, the tip of the blade is just about even with the tip of my finger - makes for safe and accurate work even when I'm up to my elbow in a deer's goopy bits.  

I'm also digging the fact that the knife is made here in the US.    :D   I've replaced that paracord wrap with some micarta handle slabs so not only is it a bit more comfortable, it (in my mind anyway) looks better with my longbow.

Happy marks so far with my relatively new Benchmade Activator (D2 steel).  Worked very well on my deer last week.  Small enough yet big enough.

 

But for clearing and campsite prep . . .
