Blue Ridge Snowy Mountain Info

I am looking for some more info about my Blue Ridge Snowy Mountain. I believe that the markers are not building bows any more, if I heard right they own an archery supply company now...

Also is the bow FF compatible?

I really like the bow, but have to sell and some people were asking questions that I could not answer.

They used to be sold by 3 Rivers.

I looked in my 1996 catalog and the Snowy Mt recurve's description does not mention FF compatible. All it says was there are "double tip overlays".


I think 1996 was the last year 3 Rivers carried them.

Blue Ridge Archery was a one man (Tom White) shop in WV; and he has been closed for many years now.  I also have one of the last Snowy Mountain recurves he made and it came with a dacron flemish string.  From that, I would assume it was technically not a FF compatible bow; although I suspect many well built older recurves would handle it just fine as long as you aren't shooting light (less than 10gr/lb) arrows.

I found the original paperwork on my Blue Ridge Snowy Mountain The warrently is very specific that FF strings NOT be used with any Blue Ridge bow.  I purchased mine in 1994 and he closed shop two or three years later.  As far as I know, Silver Arrow Archery in New Hampshire was the only distributor for Blue Ridge.  I seem to remember seeing a "Snowy Mountain" recurve in the 3Rivers catalog.  I could be wrong, but I don't think it was the same bow.

Chester, I can tell you a bit about that bow, I bought it in 1996 from Three rivers, it came to me new, about a year of shooting it, I found what I thought was a check in the riser, non shelf side about 3/4" long. I contacted Tom he asked me to send it to him, so I sent it off.
   He sanded and glued the check refinished the riser and returned it to me, I asked him about ff strings at the time, he said NO !, it would void his "warranty", That bow has always been stored un-strung and taken care of very well, it likes heavy arrows and a three bundle flemish with hush puppies. And is very smooth, fast shooting curve has ended the lives of several deer,  Sorry bow isn't working out, to anyone looking at this bow it is a good one, Chester is a good guy to deal with, hope this helps anyone on the fence, Todd
