"We at Gold Tip are aware of issues with our nocks. While the overall reported rate of failure is less than one in a thousand, any level of failure is not acceptable to Gold Tip. We have identified the root cause of the failures as a material issue. As a result, we have initiated a change in material specifications with our nock suppliers. If you have experienced any Gold Tip nock breakage or have any doubts about your existing nocks for any reason please return those nocks for immediate replacement. We will pay for all shipping and replacement of your nocks at no charge. For more information, please contact us by email at customerservice@goldtip.com or by phone at 801-229-1666, or 800-551-0541 between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm MT."

Fewer than one in a thousand?  My last couple dozen must represent SEVERAL thousand.  I've had several nocks snap.  Seem to have them weeded out now though.

Same as sweeney for me- as I reported on the other thread.  I have had 7 failures in about a dozen and a half arrows.  I should have bought a lottery ticket I guess.  Glad they are trying to catch it. . . no more GT nocks for me however.

I have had a few break also. Just the nub remains. The "tangs" break off for me. Have found them broken as the are stuck in targets, after being shot intact. Check them good

Good company to make things right.

Is it just the white one's that are failing ?

I have had probably 10-15 break just this summer. Thankfully not on the shot but when they hit the target.

I wonder if the rate of failure is higher with the heavier arrows trad archers typically shoot.

I have not had a failure yet with mine (knock on wood), but I shoot a relatively light set up.

Thank you for posting this info!

I've had several failures this summer. I shoot full length 1535s and 3555s and use standard inserts and regular weight points ( 100, 125, 145, 160, etc,). My arrows fall well within the designation for each shaft.

One dry fire with no bow damage. I am seeing breaks at the shaft and with the nock "wings" that go around the string.

I've had maybe 10. The most I've owned is about 50 nocks ever, so one in 1000 is an understatement for my experience.

Only time I've had one fail is when I've hit it with another arrow.

I havbe not had any problems with mine but one of my shooting buddies has had major problems with his. I saw three of his break in one afternoon shooting at the bales. No apparent reason for it. That was just the one day, he had broken others in previous weeks, not heavy weight bow or arrows, nothing fancy

Breakfast Boy

I'm bringing this back up to the top because I just today got around to calling Gold Tip concerning my nocks.  They were awesome about the situation and are replacing mine with new nocks...no questions asked and no cost to me.

Great customer service and thanks yononindo for posting this info up!
