i use my kme broadead sharpener on my magnus 2's. i use the coarse stone and in under a minute they will pop hair! BUT if i try and go to the medium stone and fine stone, they become less sharp?? what gives? i use just the weight of the jig for pressure, loads of oil, and keep up with the number of strokes.....suggestions?

Give Ron at KME a call. Simplest solution you'll get here.
He's all about helping. Great guy!

Sounds like the edge is rolling slightly, but Charlie has the best advice.

Use an ink marker to see your contact on the blade. When done, a sharp edge does not reflect light when looking at it straight on into the edge.

Your very coarse stone may be dished already. The harder stones may not be contacting the edge.

Also remember that the farther out your tip is from the centerline of the KME, the cutting angle changes. The tips require a lot more roughing-in than the rear of the blade edges. Just look for reflected light when done...
