I went out this eveing, with only 2 arrows in my side Quiver. One a POC, with a flint head by Eric 101 on here, 600grains total and a Gt35/55 w/Ace std, BH, 170 for 500grains total. I set my double bull stool up, about 22 yards give or take, doesnt really matter, but  my farthest shot from about all my  permanent natural blinds. I pulled my Quinn Stallion to anchor, and pulled on thru, watched the Flint tipped POC bury about 7 inches into my 3d target, 4 inches from the bottom of the chest, 1 inch behind the shoulder, cold shot, no warm up. I then shot the GT w/Ace bh shaft, about 1 inch above the first one. I felt really good about this, as I am a firm believer the first one counts the most.

I then drove around with binos and spotting scope before dark to 4 different fields where I hunt, all withing 2 miles of home. The deer were out tonight, saw several does, some young bucks, and 2 dandy high and wide bucks, with 2 huge does, both with velvet off! I never got within 250 yds of any of them, but the 2 big bucks were dandys, Kentucky TJ might event shoot at them, and they both were using a trail I have taken many deer on with a bow, crosses a tip of a field and thru a small section of woods, to come out on another field. They were within 25 yds of a ladder stand of mine, back a little in the woods. Guess I will be there opening eveing! My season might get off to a good start. Saw several turkeys too, so I am pumped to say the least. I have had very little time off from work this summer, since first of May, but have multiple weeks of this fall, and am really looking forward to a well earned break. I am excited, but kinda calm too, I just have a gut feeling it is gonna be a great year here this year. Just thought I would share.

Samuel,

Sounds like Friday night will be a fidgety one! May you perform the way you practice!

Unless there's and East wind or it's raining, I'll be in the same stand I started the season last year on opening morning.
