Anybody know how to change the color of a Selway rawhide quiver from the standard orange brownishh color to black that works?

Might try a mink oil/pine pitch leather care product. Usually does a good job of darkening leather. You won't get black, but a very dark brown. Not sure how well it would work on rawhide though.    :dunno:

Black leather dye or black Rit dye mixed with alcohol.
Why are you wanting to change the color?

Go to a shoe repair place or tandy leather.. get bottle of Frebrings leather dye..in black..
IT WILL GET IT BLACK PERMANENTLY... DONT USE ANYTHING ELSE..IT WONT WORK, TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you cant find it.. mail it to me ill dye it for you no charge  :)

Just for looks. ot a New Bob Lee Smoke. It is Gray palm and Black Micarta riser with gray dyed  curly maple limbs. Thought Black would look good on it instead of the brown.

I used fieblings to do dye mine- no question that it turned black, but everytime I touch it I get black on my hands.  I have tried wiping it down several times but it still bleeds off- any suggestions?

Seal it with shellac or poly. Tandy's used to sell a product called Resoline. It was a clear acrylic sealer for leather and worked over Fiebings dye.

I'd check out a leather place or a shoe repair place. They would have some leather dye for ya.

If the dye is still rubbing of there are other issues... something was put on the hood thats stoping the dye from penetrating.. PM me and ill tell you what to do..

Black is the worst dye to work with if it is not sealed it will bleed. Did you use a alcohol based dye or oil based? The oil based will give more problems exspecialy on rawhide. I would use a lacqure based sealer.
