I can't find a category in the classifieds for decoys, so thought I would throw out a general plea.  If this is not appropriate mods, please delete it.  As I get ready for my Oct. Moose hut I thought a moose decoy might help.  Didn't know if any one had a Montana moose decoy they would like to get rid of, or rent.  Since it took me twenty years to draw this tag I don't know if I want to invest the long dollar in a new one.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Sooo... is that just to get rid of your MIL or will she bring in the moose....?

Never heard of a moose decoy, what would that be like to carry in? Or is it a blow up type thingy?

You don't need a decoy.  If the bulls are rutting hard enough to respond to a deecoy they will come to you if you just wear black or dark brown colored parka/shirt.  We carry a canoe paddle for the antler display and for raking the brush.  It can be a little unnerving when they are looking right at you with white all around the eyeball.

Go to a dollar store and pick up a cheap black umbrella. Just open it up and stick it in a willow clump. Keeps you dry in the rain too.
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

Some good suggestions.  My season is the second week of October.  So past the main part of the rut in Sept.  I am hoping they will still be willing to come to calls.  I thought the decoy might help sweeten the pot.
