Selway vs. Great Northern

I'm a couple hours away from pulling the trigger on a limb bolt quiver for my Bob Lee take down.

Any thoughts on the Selway vs. the Great Northern.

I doubt I will make much use of the QD feature, so I am mainly interested in functionality and looks. They weigh 1/2 oz apart. The Great Northern connects the hood and lower end with a steel rod and the Selway is in two parts. I've never seen either in person.

Thoughts?

Both are excellent quivers, I'm not a real bow quiver guy, but have had both. I think it comes down to which one you like the looks of . Which by the way are both nice looking and well made....tough choice!

I just ordered a side-mount quiver from Black Widow about 10 minutes ago. I first wanted the Selway because the arrow grippers are close together, but after speaking to them I was informed that there's no plastic cup in the hood of the quiver, just leather over foam. I ended up going with the Thunderhorn which has a cup inside the leather.

I have both mounted on Bob Lee bows.  They are both excellent quivers, but if I could only keep one it would be the GN.  If you call them, they can provide the hood with the Bob Lee logo.

Bang!

Just talked to Rick at GN. It's on the waaaaaay!

Old Chief, thanks for the tip on the logo. That did it.

Good move. Great Northerns are the best IMHO.

GN are good quivers.  Can't go wrong with either

Sel Way for me, but good luck w/your quiver ...

FYI...if it's not too late and forgive me if Rick already told you about this, but Rick has two colors of hoods he's offering now for the same money.  Standard cow hide on the left and the new horse hide, which as you can see is a darker leather, on the right....

And here it is on my Great Northern Critter Gitter.  The darker hood really matches the Shedua riser nicely...

I don't think you can go wrong with anything that has the Great Northern name on it.  Top notch bows and quivers all the way and two of the nicest guys you'll ever deal with.

It's been almost 24 hours and its not here yet! What gives?

  :smileystooges:

Either leather tint will work on my bow since I have a blonde riser with shedua limbs. Those are good photos, btw.

Lee Robinson .

I REALLY prefer the GN over the selway. I like my Kanati Slim Jim also. Here is the slim jim on my Hunter series bow...

Until next time...good shooting,

Lol! I ordered mine on a Friday afternoon. Rick said he had just returned from his daily trip to the post office so it would ship out Monday.

That weekend I ended up at my daughter's on an unplanned trip and she only lives a half hour from Rick. So first thing Monday I called Rick to say I would be over to pick it up. Rick said "Sorry, but I shipped it out for you Friday and you should get it today." Sure enough it was at my house when I got home that afternoon. Like I said, Rick and Jerry are both top notch.

You will really like that quiver. Post up pics when you get it on your bow.

WHEW!

Waiting, waiting, waiting... Finally called Rick and there was a typo on my PO Box. It's been here since 7/28. He put it in the mail 7/26. I was getting a little nervous. Literally RAN three blocks and after proving to the postmaster (who has known me years) that I am who I am, there it was in my hot front paws!

Brand spanking new Great Northern TD QD bow quiver with Bob Lee Archery logo on it.

Pics to come.

(Also got a pkg from Kustom King with Terminators, Easton Epoxy to make photo worthy arras), broad head file... and as usual a piece of orange candy.)

I like GN's alot, have 2.   I do however want to try the new Selway strap quiver,  has 2 studs for the strap to connect.  There are some good videos on the Selway web site explaining how it works etc.

Blonds vs Brunettes; you can't go wrong with either!
