Hey guys Im thinking of getting some HH broadheads, the 11/32 one is 160 grains and I have the choice of steel or aluminum adaptors to glue them to to make them screw in . The specs on the HH ferrule is Chrome aluminum,

The adaptor I wnt to use is the 40 grain aluminum from 3 rivers because the weight is perfect to get me right at 200 grain total head weight.

the smallest 11/32 adaptor I see weighs in at 75 which is a tad more than I want.

can I glue aluminum to the chrome aluminum Howard Hill ferrule and if so what type of bonding agent would you use? Jb Weld?

Thanks

So the aluminum adaptors are ok?  are they significantly weaker than the steel ones? i.e. do you have confidence in this setup?

I use the steel adapters whenever I can handle the extra weight up front.  I've had the aluminum adapters bend even though the broadhead was intact.

I have used the aluminum adaptors in Hill broadheads just like you're talking about, and they work fine. Clean both with alcohol and glue with hot melt. I've never had one come apart. I think you'll like them.
