Guys/gals, I have a new LB ordered but I'm stumped at what to put with the Tulipwood. I'm looking at Tulipwood veneers but cant seem to figure out what handle wood to go with it. It will have a black leather wrap on it. I thought about using the tulipwood in the handle as well and the wrap would break it up a bit. Any ideas? Any pics of some tulipwood combos? Thanks.

Pete, thanks. That All Tulipwood bow looks pretty good together. Wasn't sure how it would look all one wood.

Steve, your Talltines has some awesome veneers on it. Are the tips cocobolo? I thought about using it too.

I think a purpleheart riser and tulipwood limbs would be a striking combo.

(People seem to either love or hate purpleheart though.)

I would go with something dark for contrast like ebony

Yes, phenolic under coco.  The coco gets darker as it ages, it is a super sharp combo.

I would say dark wood also. Wenge, ebony or a dark cocobolo.

Cocobolo and tulipwood is a nice combo.  I used to have a Monarch LB with cocobolo handle, tulipwood veneers, and a dark brown leather grip.  Very pretty, never got tired of the combo.

TOEJAMMER

The two Monarch longbows I have with tulip wood have cocobolo and look perfect together.

Looks like I may have narrowed it down to coco or ebony. I've owned both and like ebony. But coco has more grain showing. I'm leaning toward coco. Never thought of a brown grip Easy. Hmm. Thanks for all the help guys/gals.

I have a Java Man Tanjavur that is Tulipwood. I went with a double black stripe in the riser and black glass on the back. I had Gregg use Tulipwood veneers on the belly. I love it.

how about some light colored bubinga.  Should pick up the highlights in the tulipwood.
