Using B-50 I could count on enough creep in the string to provide plenty of twists.. but with D-10 or D-97 there isn't that much.. do you add and inch to the layout length to accommodate this or not?

A friend makes mine for me and he doesn't. I have two 66" recurves and both of them take 62" Dyna97 bowstrings.
Blacktail TD Recurve: 66", 42# @ 30". Arrow: 32", 2212. PW: 75 Grains. AW: 421 Grains. GPP: 10.02
Blacktail TD Recurve: 66", 37# @ 30". Arrow: 32", 2212. PW: 75 Grains. AW: 421 Grains. GPP: 11.37

Mike,

Yes. I make HMPE strings 3/4 to 1" longer than dacron.

Went ahead and laid one up this morning to AMO and with 8" on either end for the braid it came out pretty close.. Made a 3 bundle and it looks good for my first Flemish in more than 15 years. Twisted it to proper brace, burnished and waxed it then served and went to shoot it. After about 25 shots it seemed to settle and quiet down without any silencers ... to my amazement it actually stayed together... guess I haven't forgotten everything I once knew... loops did end up a little big, but I'll fix that with the next one...

Thanks for the help..
