Hello to all. Seen a riser wood combo I am in love with. Orange Osage and....a very dark wood
with no visible grain. A dark, dark, black cherry
hue. not black like Gabon ebony. Any ideas?
Make certain your exhausted when you reach them Pearly Gates.

If you want something with just a "hint" of reddish hue, dark Flamewood may work.  I have one billet that is extremely dark, until you get it in the light then you can see some reddish highlights that seem to almost "glow".

If you dont mind more of a "plumb" hue, and a bit darker, Katalox is a good option,  very tough/heavy wood as well.

Like all other woods, shades will vary greatly.

Makassar ebony maybe?  I have seen both very dark with very little light grain visible.  On occasion I have seen some real lark cocobolo with minimal visible grain.
