Browning Nomad Stalker

Thinking about buying a Browning Nomad Stalker. Just wondered what others thought about them.

Finger pinch on that one would likely kill me (I draw 30"), but I do like Browning bows.

I bought my nephew a Nomad Stalker 45#@28,sweet little bow and a nice shooter.I also had bought him a 34#@28 Browing Wasp when he was younger.I like the old Browning bows,they are nice bows and great shooting bows in my opinion.

I have a Nomad I that I really like a lot. Better shooter than my Wasp. Use a stringer for sure, I have noticed that the Brownings are a little prone to limb twist.
I love Browning bows.

Ha!  I had the same experience as Stump - I shot two Stalkers over a three year period and wrestled with them every day - didn't know any better so I was happy.  That was a loooooog time ago.

A good question is: "what do you draw"? That bow could be a good one for you.  If I remember it strings 52" ntn.

I have had good luck with my Brownings. I currently own two Nomad stalkers. Both are my primary and backup go-to bowfishing bows. They are identical twins with a #49 and a #48 pull.  They have really stood up to the hard rigors of bowfishing and I have zero complaints about them. They both draw and shoot sweet!
In my opinion Browning made some great recurves back in the day and they are almost always under rated. This is good for us browning shooters as it keeps the purchase cost down a bit. Try out a nomad stalker, if a sweet, short bow is what you want. You can't go wrong.

I have a 51# Nomad Stalker that shoots great for me...but I draw a shade under 28". If you're a long draw and still want to shoot a Browning,consider the Explorer II(62"),Safari II(60") or Fury II(60")

I had one for my son but he out grew it.  I have a 30 inch draw, his is long as well.  Stumpkiller is correct, longer draws are not so welcomed with that bow.  

That said, they are fairly quick and real quiet for a recurve type bow.  If you draw 28 inches or less they are nice, especially out of a blind.

I have a Safari 1 I like to shoot that is 54" if I remember correctly.  I only draw about 26-26.5 or so - pinch is not an issue with me.  I like the looks of the old Brownings, and as long as yours is in good condition, you should be fine.

I've had my 50# Stalker for a long time...really like shooting it! It is very quiet and really flings an arrow!

Had one......first bow I ever bought, that was 1967 or 68. Had a lot of fun with that bow!

Finger pinch? Not at all. My Nomad Stalker is 58" and 50# and is sweet at my 28" draw.

Thanks for the info. A buddy of mine has several trad bows. He loaned me one to try it's 45# @28", if I liked it he would give a good deal. It's in almost mint condition and shoots great. My arrows go exactly where I want them compaired to my Bear Grizzly recurve which is 58"amo 50@ 28". My draw length is 26.5

Browning made some great bows with smooth draws for their lengths.....I prefer the Stalker II, Cobra II, Explorer II, and Backpacker II for the extra length but they are all great bows.

I have a Cobra II that is a very sweet bow....
