Anyone know of a source for screw-in field points between 250gr and 300gr?

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow's effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

The best way is to make your own using a 75 gr steel adapter and a 200 gr glue on field point or 100 gr steel adapter and 175 gr field point. The custom weight possibilities this way are almost endless. You can further fine tune the weight by adding lead birdshot in the hollow of the adapter and or up in the nose of the field point ferrule.

I been getting those screw in machined 200s from 3 rivers and I think you can get them in a 225.So that leaves you out on the 250 and 300s.So heres how you do it.Get 100 grain steel broadhead adapters, which have a small hollow in the tips of them. Then get small round lead split shot for fishing or shot gun shot in the appropriate size. Then experiment with a digital grain scale of how much you need to get your desired weight plus the standard traditional glue on style tip and then JB weld the whole thing together. The problem is,they are a bear to pull out of targets.Especially bag targets. The other way,if you are shooting woods is to get the deal that allows you to drilla precise hole in the front of the shaft so you can put a nail or fishing pencil lead in the head of the shaft to weight the arrow to what ever you want. They work goood!Good luck. How many pounds you shooting to push those things any how?

We cary all available screw in sizes from 100 - 300, but no one is manufacturing the 275 as of yet. Well, that is always subject to change too.

I don't see where Kustom King has 275 gr,screw in field points.

I should have mentioned, after gluing your steel adapter into your field point, chuck the field point into a drill or drill press and running the drill, hit the back edge of the point/adapter with a broadhead file to slightly bevel that rear edge. They will pull out of any target just fine.If a 275 gr point is truly what you need, there is no need for using lead, only if you need to make a custom weight inbetween. All you need is a steel adapter and a glue on field point. It is really very simple.

what jimb said - make up yer own, it's easy.  i do that all the time.  it's easier to have 4 weights of screw-in adapters on hand (45 alum, 75/100/125 steel) and fp's from 100 to 300 grains.  mix 'n' match as need be.

chopX2- Per your inquiry - I did a little digging myself and came up empty attempting to locate.

The good thing is that you have been presented with some viable options.

Lots of alternatives here, all will work.  If you don't want to build/grind you could also use a 50 grain brass insert with a 225 gr field point.
