I received a call from Big Jim last week. He told me  that the two bows I ordered from him this past summer would be done in a couple of weeks .Well this deer season ive been passing up a lot of small bucks waiting for mister big and a lot of does thinking something bigger was coming next . That leaves me with my last Fox recurve before I go strictly to longbows and it hasn't made meat yet. Now late in the fourth quarter my buddy ray (missinginohio) says the blind that he has placed between the bedding area and feeding area has had lot of activity and with five inches of snow due tonight .it's time to fill my tag. Well we settled into the blind around 3:00pm and at 4:15pm up from a valley came five does about 75yrds out and keep on going down towards the winter wheat and corn. After another 40min or so I was thinking that was all the action we were going to get for the day when Ray says deer! Looks like someone slept in and he's on the trail that will lead him to are ambush. Down the trail he came right into my shooting lane and thump went my bow. Thanks Ray   http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx186/longbow69/DSC01121.jpg

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
