nock / fletch position

Hi,
i got some unusual wear in the middle of my strike plate. Therefore i started wondering wht would be the best position for the fletching / nock

I found this pic:

 

But do those positions of the feathers symbol the front, middle or back of the feather?
When i fletch helical the front and end of a feather wont be in one line so wich is shown on the pic?

I currently use the 90x90 4 fletch shown in the pic with my feather ends (nockend) situated like this.

Hope it was clear what i meant, with such difficult themes my english gets lousy.

Rear of the feather closest to the nock.

Try the cock feather vertical,if you are useing carbon arrows fletch then turn nock if wood or aluminumn press nock on without glue as tight as you can then fletch then remove nock and glue in vertical position,this took away my feather wear.

saumensch, what kind of arrows are you fletching.  If you are using carbon or aluminum, you can rotate the nock to get the front or back of the feathers any position you want.  If you are doing wood, you will need to pay more attention to the grain of the wood to nock location.  I usually just twist my nocks on my wood shafts and then have some room for adjustment on them before final glueing.

If you are getting wear on the strike plate it may be the arrow shaft itself rubbing as you release. What is your entire setup?

i use carbon arrows.

Beman Mfx Classic 340, 30,25"; 125grain + 50 insert + 10 alufooting.
Bow: Bob Lee TD LB, 56#@my29,5; side plate build out to +1/16";

Maybe your arrow is too stiff!

Maybe it's the build out of the rest.

Bareshaafting showed me the arrows were to weak, so as i couldnt go down in point weight i started building the side plate out. Now the bareshafts fly like darts (with a little weak left) and group with the fletched ones perfectly.

What size feathers? The more weight on the tail could be weakening the spine a bit.

Dont see where your problem is. You stated you built out the strikeplate to get perfect arrow flight so Yes you are going to get wear there, its normal.
