Found a shed on January 8, 2011, in Wisconsin, 3rd one found in our family in last 2 weeks. Anyone else finding sheds yet this season?

My belief is that is they are shedding early they are weak from either a very harsh winter or suffered some injury during hunting season (or elsewhere).  I have twice pulled the antlers off deer I've shot in late December and early January but in each case they had been hit earlier in the hunting season(s).
I usually wait until late February or early March and concentrate on the bedding areas.

None here yet. I hope to make a day of searching for them the first weekend of Feb.

Only this little one so far this year but will be headed out soon. Maybe I can find a fresh one next time.
