Hi,

i tested the MFX Classic and they shoot good, arent to expensive and i like em quite well.
But the finish/coating seems to exfoliate to fast and easy. After stump hits, arrows touching each other in the target or thelike the clear coating gets of and i am wondering if this is because i got a bad batch or is it like that in general?
Also, wont this cause problems?

Thanks for all input!

I have been shooting them for awhile and unless I am mistaken there is no clear coating, simply the imitation wood grain layer over the carbon. It can become scuffed which is no problem. The only problem you may encounter is that layer splitting and coming off, usually from the front end back. It has happened to me very infrequently save one dozen that had a high rate and I contacted Beman (Easton), sent the dozen to them and they sent me a new dozen with which I had no problems.

I have shot the mfx classic a lot, and I have had the same experience with each dozen, but only at the front. Probably from friction going into targets. Doesn't seem to weaken them appreciably.

Its the wood grain finish.  The ones I tried did the same thing.  Just on the front where they enter foam targets.  Probably won't hurt anything.  I switched to the camo axis.  Weigh almost the same and I don't have that problem.

Yep, just a clear "film" flakes off, after prolonged use or hard hits.  The wood grain finish is still there, just the film flakes off.
