Bowwild started this thread on selling remorse, but it is pages into it. I responded but wanted to bring attention to what the Windauers did for a friend of mine! I didn't want it to get lost in the far pages without trad gangers reading about it!! Here was my response!

"Roy, I have devastated myself so many times I cant even count them. I sold several Silvertips that had sentimental meaning....I refinish collectible recurves from the 60's and early 70's and had in my hands some of the most rare recurves on this planet. Sold 'em all. I even had the serial "# 10" Schafer Silvertip  made by Paul Schafer for Paul Brunner. I gave it to Dave Windauer years ago because I knew Paul's death hit him hard. But it worked out incredible. A woman I know ..her husband was dying and they were down to nothing. I put the word out and Dave and Beth auctioned off the bow and gave the cash to my friend!!! Awesome people!
Had many a custom bow made, and they are gone. I've kicked myself for way too long. The world is constantly changing. Great bucks come and go to be replaced by new. Bows, and bow hunters are the same. Don't sweat it, remember them well and keep moving forward."

I had a schafer silvertip made by Paul and sold it!  The only bow in my life that I have regreted selling.  I now shoot a silvertip made by Dave and it is an awesome bow.  I don't now them personally but they sound like awesome people and also make an awesome bow!!

I've owned 3 Schafer bows made by Paul and 1 made by Dave.  Sold them all.  We are all in the same boat...the bows are in good hands for now and maybe someday we will see them again!

Thanks for the comments, I hadn't seen your post, once those threads cycle to the bottom they are hard to dredge up.  That's pretty cool you paying it forward like that for Dave and then helping the friend who was sick .. I'm sure that was part of THE plan all along.

I've been through a bunch and now I have a Silvertip by Dave.

I just don't have a reason to buy another or sell it. Absolutely no faults with this bow.

Beth and Dave are top notch.  I was interested in a 3 piece long bow that Dave is making.  Being that we are both Left handed, he sent me his to try out.  Great service, great people and did I mention a great product.

Great Service and products.  Love my 'tips!  And the checkering Dave has done on my risers.  Now we just need Beth to get the website updated so others can see the work he does.
