To get trad close try this

Build your own deer funnel. The streem in the pic has a soft bottom. Deer have a hard time crossing it. So lets make it easy for them to cross. While we are at it. Lets make it easy for them to cross where we want them to cross. I can all ready here the wheels turning. Some of you out there in trad land have a place this will work now dont you. Took the deer about 2 to 3 months to start useing it. It is now getting better all the time. Will start hunting it next year. Building wildlife bridges is a two part process. First comes idea to do so, and the right place to put it. Then comes the mussel and hard work . That is why god made young sons with friends. Behind every good team, there is a good coach. Oh yea allmost forgot. If some one else has sucsess with this idea. I have dibs on the back straps. Shoot straight >>--->

I have no doubt (you have proof after all) such ideas work. However, I'll share one that didn't for me.  When I was in Missouri in the mid-90's a deer trail was about 10 yards further from my tree than I wanted. So I built a brushpile about 4 feet high and similar depth in the trail. My intention was to bump the deer closer to me.  The first time I hunted the stand a doe was coming down the trail.  Boy was I excited to see if my plan would work.  The doe came to the brushpile and yep, you guessed it, she jumped right over!

I did use sweaty socks to get deer to choose a trail closer to my stand one time -- saw it work too and then I missed the shot.

Not lashed together. Just all jamed in tight. Used Tamarac logs. They are kinda like pine, but it takes forever for them to rot. I am adding one pic. Dont know how it will look. It was realy dark as you will see from the time stamp. Good Luck!!

I put a bridge across my creek a year ago. The farmer is laughing at me, as it is now in the middle of a pile of brush about 150 yards down stream.. He just grins and is polite enough to not say "I told you so"

Thanks Randy for the touch up. Notice what time Lucky was useing the bridge. Up untill the rut started. The pictures we got of him where between 10 pm and 2 am any where on the property. Guess why we call him lucky. 6 times 30yds or less and no shot yet. That is just this year. We go back a long way me and Lucky. Got to admit I had 3 good shots at him broadside this year at 30yds. I just cant do it (hard dissision) shoot 30yds that is. We all no how trad goes. If he was running around with a wood arrow stuck in his shoulder. It would give us all a bad name with Wheel Bow Gang. So I will keep practicing longer shots. And Lucky dose what he dose. BE LUCKY
