Howard Hill would have been 111 today. I was born 49 years later, so I'm 62 today. Headed for the woods to see if I can celebrate with a fat doe. Here's hoping I can channel the old man!

Another b-day today, I'm now 50.

Saw a nice buck from my stand this morning but too far away. Blazin' hot out now so I guess there'll be no birthday buck.

I didn't see another living thing this morning, so I guess Howard's ghost was busy elsewhere. I did find fresh scrapes and rubs 10 yards in front of my stand, though, so it wasn't a loss.

Maybe it had something to do with the 4 phone calls I had while in the stand. Good thing I remembered to put it on "vibrate".
