A lot of work goes into brain tanning buckskin. It's hard to find a single brain tanned hide for under $100 much less have the cloths made too. It usually takes at least 3 hades for a shirt and 2 or 3 for breeches.

These guys make the real thing designed after authentic clothing worn from history. Famous mountain men's clothes are offered like Jim Bridger's elk jacket etc. Real smoked indian tanned hides are used for everything.
Top quality but they ain't givin 'em away!!!!!

A decent moosehide jacket will cost close to a thousand bucks.  Add beadwork and you're headed to the $1500.00 range and worth every penny.  Braintanning is super hard work.  Using commercially tanned leather is a waste of time as it doesn't breathe like buckskin and is noisy in the bush.

Thanks, i know that craftmanship has its price, thats why i wrote decent, not cheap. Like my granny used to say, buy cheap buy twice.
