broadheads for mfx classics

I purchased some mfx classics and am wondering what broadheads will fit or is there an issue at all. Will any broadhead fit these shafts. Looking to shoot heavy broadheads around 175 grains. any help would be appreciated.

If your worried about the diameter, anything will work. I've shot everything from Termiators, to grizzlies, to muzzy phantoms, to magnus and even magnus bull heads for turkeys and all work just fine.

Dont worry whatever broadhead will work fine, the mfx are excellent shafts

im shooting mfx classic 500. im using magnus 2 blade. i think they weigh 145 grains , and with the insert weight of 75 grains , total weight up front is 225 grains. oh the shafts are un cut factory full length. they fly perfect, good luck in your broadhead choice. hope i helped. ruddy

Ya might consider adapter rings since the MFX shafts are such a small diameter. I would think that some of the TG sponsers also carry them as well. Maybe they can jump in here and advise.

The only time I would worry about adapter rings would be if the shaft were LARGER than the broadhead creating a shoulder that would slow penetration. If the shaft is SMALLER, the broadhead makes a bigger hole = less drag.

I use 2020 shafting as footing on my MFX 500 Classics and Magnus 2-blades. But here's a picture of one with a different broadhead mounted on it, a 2-blade Snuffer I believe:

I shoot MFX 600s with 75 grain insert and 100 grain Helix, 2-blade, single bevel. I also shoot 100 grain Silver Flames with same insert.  Interestingly, while I have only shot the 150 grain Silver Flames at 13 yards (basement range) they hit the same place at that distance as the 100 grain Silvers.

The MFX Classic is my favorite shaft so far in a 45-year bowhunting career. Very durable and fly great.  They don't look half bad either!

I'm going to try 202 grain Centaur Big Game Heads on MFX 400 Classics this fall.(with 100 grani brass insert as well. Should weight around 625 grains.

I shoot mostly all alluminums thru my bows. I did pic up some 500 and 600 MFX classics to try mostly because I like there wood grain looks.
I was surprised how versital they were to tune  between bows. When bare shafting one set up worked fine on many different bows. Even when changing point weight. The narrow shafts also have an advantage in staying on the narrow shelfs on some longbows. I will be using more of these in the future.

I shoot these arrows and really like to foot them just past the HIT insert with Aluminum.  Then I put on something big like a Grizzley El Grande or Abowyer Brown Bear with no problem.

You have to use a washer behind some broadheads or the blades will push back into the shaft.  As you know the insert doesn't go all the way to the end of the carbon shaft.  You have to either foot them or use a washer.  The Muzzy Phantom is a good example.  The bleeder blades will push back and cut the shaft on impact.  Other than that you can shoot any broadhead you want.

i use anything with em but it doesnt seem to matter if the head is flush w/ the shaft, its only goin one way....    otherwise i would use an adapter.
