Here's what I made back last fall. It's quiet, rotates 360 degrees and weighs under 6 lbs.

Yesterday I made tremendous improvements to it by adding a back and padded carry straps.

Thanks for looking!

Hello Mudd!

Good job!
I'm trying to build mine along the same format, how did you attach the shaft to the base?

Thanks Ken

The seat just sits on top of the post. The other way of saying it is the post fits up inside the seat base.

I can remove the seat altogether and use it on another style attachment that allows me to hang it on a tree.

That is just pretty cool there Mudd.  Only problem I see if I had one of those and nodded off and lost my balance.  I know a great excuse to drink more coffee.  HE HE.

Pretty cool there Mudd. When do they go on sale?

Mudd, I'm trying to appreciate your innovation, but that would be too much for me to be carrying around. Good luck with it.

Good job Mudd! I was hunting yesterday evening and thought about you. When I ground pound I will usually use a tree seat but I didn't take anything because it was wet and I knew I would be moving quite a bit. Well it came time to set up over an area and while standing for 15-20 mins I thought about your seat and how comfy it would be. Basically its project time and I need something to do this evening when I get out of the woods. Pics to come!!

Thanks for the kind words!

I want to say with the wide padded straps and the way it balances I hardly feel the weight.

I know it doesn't weigh as much as the Huntmore and sets up a bunch faster.

I've used it on 3 outings now and so far I've had no real issues with it.

You can bet that if I find some way of improving it, it'll happen if it's within my capability.

This seat looks great Mudd! Now all you need is a "Mudd-ghost" blind to set up in front/back of it, lol.

Doc Nock I was blessed and they had one stuck under a work bench over at the maintenance office at our school.

It didn't take long to cut the bracket off so it would lay flat against the iron seat supports. It is welded up so it'll hold up a really big boy!..lol
