Chek-Mate bows....long wait

I ordered a Chek-Mate bow through a vendor back in February. I have been told that there is a backlog of orders and it may be awhile before I see my bow. I have always bought my bows "off the rack" so I am wondering if this is to be expected when a bow is built to order. Any of you waited this long for a Chek-Mate bow?

This is on their site:

"PLEASE NOTE: Due to the backlog of orders, no new bow orders are being accepted at this time.  Please call or e-mail for possible in-stock bows. We are still accepting string orders."

Sounds like they are plenty busy.

Marc moved his shop a few months ago. This created a backlog while he was down. He's working on catching up.

Some bowyers have longer waits and some are shorter, waiting is the hard part of ordering a new custom built bow.I've had a few Chek-mate bows, they were all well built, beautiful finish and sweet shooters.

Thanks for the comments. I was just curious and don't mind waiting for a quality product.

Dwight I've had a bunch of chek-mates over the years, certainly worth the wait...  Top notch product and probably the best value for your dollar out there. Be patient,it'll be worth it.   Mo

A custom built bow is worth the wait, so be patient.  I think a new Shrew has a 1 1/2 wait right now, from what a friend told me.

If you ordered the new Hunter III takedown you will be really impressed. I shot one this past Monday and it is not only pretty to look at, it is a really smooth shooter.

At my 30 inch draw length that bow was pulling almost 60 pounds and usually I have trouble with anything over 50 pounds.

Google "Beaver Creek Longbows" just to see what else Marc is doing.

What part of Montana are you from? We used to
spend, or maybe I ought to say misspend, quite a few hours in Sweetgrass when I was going to school in Lethbridge.

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Even better look for username "manyletters" elsewhere on this site. You will see a picture of the Hunter III that I shot at Dennis's place in Calgary (turns out he lives 3 blocks from my brother).

I did shoot one bow that I would sooner have than that one. It was a 1200 dollar Adcock longbow.

Can't wait to get my CM Hunter III.  This is a first rate custom bowyer and product, well worth the extra wait time for sure.

I have two Blacktail TDs. I waited 13 months for the first bow and 15 months for the second bow.

I waited 9 months for my chek-mate, and that was before a backlog.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
