Best daypack for the money

I have about a dozen packs made by various companies. Many of them are really good. I have 3 models of Sitka Gear packs, 2 Badlands, 2 Keltys, 2 Lowas, a North Face, a Gregory and an Osprey that are all outstanding, along with a number of others that are fair to good. Just about a month ago I bought a new Eberlestock X2 with the tubular steel frame and mesh back, and I got many of the accessory items with it, although most of those are not really necessary items. The X2 pack is "only" $150, which is a bargain when you compare what you get as opposed to other packs. The X2 is the most versatile pack I have ever seen because it can be used for everything from a real day pack at only about 1800 cubic inches up to a full bivy pack at double the volume, and for hauling meat or other bulky loads. It also allows you to attach numerous accessories from Eberlestock and many of the Molle accessories manufactured for the military or for other packs. The X2 is very well made and is comfortable to carry. It is my "best pack for the money", and I have some great ones to choose from. Second choice for me would be a Sitka Gear 32 pack (I also have the 14 which is on the small side), but it is more expensive and not as versatile or heavy duty as the X2.

I think I paid about $35 for it in the States.  It is sufficient for a day hunt.  It's comfortable, lightweight, has quiet cloth exterior, rubberized waterproof/resistant interior and hydration.

I would want something a little beefier for a lengthy hunt, but for day trips it works just fine.

I have a horn hunter that I have had for about 2 years.  It has served me well.  Has lots of storage pockets, rides really comfortably and not as expensive as some other brands.

I have used all kinds from Wal-mart Feildline to surplus Alice packs ,fanny packs and over the shoulder bags and more. Just picked up a Badlands Diablo on the classifieds and should get it this week....I'll let you know!!!

Check out the "CatDay" daypacks that Jerry offers from Rancho Safari.  They are affordable and well worth the money.  He makes several more models that are not pictured on his website.

Eberlestock X2 pack is my choice as well. Great pack that can snug a load in close and tight for ease of carry. I also like all the mole webbing on the outside to be able to attach other gear if necessary. I can pack enough stuff in mine to stay out two-three days with out a problem.

I own a Badlands "Hypervent" pack. It is great for warm/hot(TX) weather hunting/backpacking and very durable. I've never even used the water bladder on mine. Just like the way the frame is designed to allow ventilation between the back and the pack frame. For the money, Badlands maks a very good product, with an excellent guarantee.

I can see if you're not concerned about packing out an animal you killed with the first trip out then other packs are fine. But if you want to comfortably pack out an quarter then the Eberlestock X2 should be considered.
