One great little spotter

The Nikon Fieldscope ED 50 is one heck of a great little spotting scope. I bought one last summer wanting to trim down in size and weight. This thing weighs a mere 17 ounces. I wasn't sure I'd like the small 50mm lense, but this thing is clear as the high dollar brands and get's the job done.

Today was the third day of gun season and I was out with my longbow. I found a fairly good 23" 4x3 and watched him go into a deep wash. He never did come out. I figured he bedded down for a spell. I got on a ridge above the wash about 3/4 mile away. This was the only high spot to look for him from. Thirty minutes or so later, there is a rear fork of his antlers! Yes, found him! To make a long story short, I spent several hours waiting for some nearby does to get out of there, stalked him, then killed him.

If you hike many miles and love spot and stalk hunting, this little Nikon spotter is the ticket.

Just a shout out to Nikon, a Tradgang sponsor.

I would post pics, but don't know how. Maybe my bud, Ferret Wyo will help?
