What kind of a finish? Hap

My nock tapers are un-finished cedar, I don't see the point in putting finish over something that's going to be protected with some glue and a nock anyway, but I use Duco Cement in the green tube and they stick so tight that I have to cut the nock off to change one out. Use the Duco and you won't have any problems it sticks real well to raw wood and dries hard enough to start shooting within 5 minutes.

Duco is cheap & strong. Good idea about no finish on the taper until after the nock is installed. Also, was told to line up the nock perpendicular to the grain. Sometimes I do but never had a problem anyway.

My nock tapers are unfinnished also. I dont cut the tapers till after the wood shafts are sealed so im gluing the nocks to fresh cut, unfinnished wood. I like duco alot. My local supermarket sells it for $1.79 a tube. Ive never had a problem with it. Ive used superglue gels and bohning platinum too but prefer the duco.

I use Duco on arrows with a polyurethene finish and use Platinum Fletch tite on everything else.

I use Duco.  Put some on, and spin the nock around to spread and coat the wood and inside of the nock. I have been happy with it and none have ever fallen off.
