TG member staitera send me a picture of a
feather rest he designed to share it with the rest of the gang.
Here you go Buddy:

Sure looks interesting!

Thanks for posting the pic. Believe others wanted to see also. I've found this rest to be much quieter & faster than any rests I've tried. Each one is different though based upon the same layered principle. Zero friction! They are not difficult to make though timeconsuming. I make them for friends for $10 each. Add Spiderleggs on the string & it almost isn't fair.

Good question RF. Guess I should have mentioned; my favorite hunting is in a freezing drizzle. Years ago, (10 yrs) I used Scotchguard on my fletching & arrow rests. It works well to repel water. My experience is such that I no longer treat my rests. I've had the same rests on my bows for years. So far never have changed a feather rest because of wear or feather distortion.

Notice also the feathers extend beyond the end of the rest. I like it & it is not a hindurance. Originally, I wanted to trim the feathers off but did not. These feathers are longer on top. There are shorter fuzzier feathers underneath. No problems. Guess you could trim w/o effect however.

One last thing. I place the feathers in such a way as to create a semi-groove for the arrow to slide through. The net result is a very slightly raised rest of properly arranged feathers grooved for speed & quiet. It works.

Does it take some getting used to?

Seems as though it would be in your sight picture and kind of distracting.

I never see it. Guess gap shooters may have problems though not entirely sure how gap works. Each feather glues at an angle into the leather part of the rest so it all lays down pretty good. The feathers become a genuine reference slot for the arrow. They do not change shot to shot.
