Interesting thread, my book just showed up in the mail a day or two ago.  Enjoying the read.  Also picked up Hunting The Hard Way at the same time.  They go well with a bit of Turkey 101 at the end of the night.

As I recall Byron's go to exhibition bow was always the "Royal Safari" model which he made himself.  Bear Archery has been making that model for himn in recent years, plus Byron sometime shoots some of the bows his son Zach makes, specifically the model based upon his Dad's old "Patriot" deflex-reflex.  I have 5 or 6 bows that Byron made for me way back when and also one of Zach's new creations he made for my son.  Zach makes a nice bow too.

"Become The Arrow" is a great book!    But then... Why read only one? What I mean to say is read all you can, watch the videos, learn a little bit from each author and you'll be on you way to good shooting.

Well, Byron is an Ambassador for Archery, a good role model and gentleman.  There has been some talk about his trick shooting and how there is no place for it in hunting and he paces certain distance, yada-yada.  Byron, is a gentleman and will talk with anyone who is willing to chat with him and his wife too, hard to find this day and age.  With his shows and television shots in an age of video games, Bryron peaked alot of interest and got alot of people (kids and adults) into archery.  He is a great shot and makes great tackle.  I have talked with Byron every year at the illinois deer/turkey classic, and bought his book have a bow he made me himself.  He puts himself out there where few tread to further the passion he has for archery and the way of the longbow.
