Hey all,

I'd like to get some advice.

I shoot 45 pound bows, my Bear Grizzly is a tad heavier at 45X.  My draw length is prolly a bit longer than 29 inches.

The 3 arrows I have are XX75 GameGetter 500 size, Easton ST Epic 500 size, and Red Head Carbon Fury 4565 size.  I think the XX75 arrows are the heaviest.  They all fly great with field points and I haven't tested any of my broadheads which are all 125 grain and up to 150 grain.

What arrow would you all suggest I use out of the ones I listed?

Would you also recommend I use the lightest or heaviest heads I have?

Thanks for the time.

I would use the Gamegetters with the 150 gr. heads. I have killed hogs with that same setup.
Everybody loves archery... some just haven't tried it yet.

JAG

Game getters, the heaviest, with the heaviest broadhead (sharpest) that you can shoot.
I use a better than 700 grain set up.  Ash or river cane shafts, Simmons Inceptor (origional) 5.5" 4 fletch Banna feathers.
I want it to make an IMPACT!
Hope this helps.

Flingblade

I'm planning a hog hunt in Texas in Feb. and the outfitter who is a traditional shooter told me he uses fiberglass fishing arrows.  He fletches them with 5" feathers and glues on a 2 blade Zwickey.  His rig weighs about 1400 grains and has enough punch for even the biggest hog.  It is a slow arrow but he said his accuracy isn't affected out to about 18-20 yards.  I might try this when I go down to hunt with him.

with 45# @ 28", yer 29"+ draw will mean close to 50#.

use whatever arrows fly best for ya.

keep near or just above 10gpp, which will mean about a 500 grain arrow, it's not all that critical.

most of all keep whatever broadheads you use SHARP ... THIS IS CRITICAL!!!

know the right spot to aim for on a hog, then pick it and HIT IT ... THIS IS CRITICAL!!!

best of luck!  i LOVE hog huntin'!

I used a 50# bow and a 500gr. arrow broadhead combo in July at Ray Hammonds. It did just fine.My broadhead was a three blade muzzy on a carbon shaft. Thanks,Jim
Never trust a bald man with a pony tail.If he's not honest with himself. He wont be honest with you.

Any of the three will work.  Go with whatever gives the best flight with the heaviest broadhead.  Bill
