What is a forward riser longbow?  I've been looking around at bowyer's websites, and for the life of me cant fiqure out why they are called forward risers.

Are they different than reflex/deflex longbows? Or can a r/d longbow also be a forward riser?

I understand that r/d is speaking of the curving of the limbs?

Sorry for my ignorance.  Help me understand.

Thanks, Mike

Mike, Take a look at Ron LaClair's Shrew, that to me is a good example of a foreward riser longbow. Or to explain it: a longbow with a recurve riser. Hope this helps!
