Are footed arrows hard to remove from bag targets?

I was wondering if anyone has problems removing footed arrows from bag targets.  I have some easton axis 500's and I thought about footing them.  Right now, I am using 145 gr tips and they are slightly oversized for the arrow.  I have a real hard time removing them from my Morrel bag target.  The tips are tapered in the back but they still stick in the bag cover.  I figure if I foot them I will probably still have the same problem.  I am afraid they are going to ruin the target so I have quit shooting them.

If I foot them then I can find a better assortment of tips that will be the same size as the footed section of the arrow.  There is not much available that fits the axis arrows(17/64").

Any suggestions?

thanks
Dave

Yes footing them will have a little lip they catches, which makes it alittle difficult on removal. You can taper the back end of the footing to help but will still catch some. For Axis/MFX I use EP 18-125 and EP 18-145,these are easy pull points and come out easy in targets. These points are available at KK and 3Rivers.

Yes chamfer them by chucking them in a drill before installation. Spin the edges against a file or suitable abrasive. You will have to de-burr the inside a little on some of them.

Even if they catch coming out of a target using field points the footing benefit in strength is well worth it.

Good idea jhg,     :notworthy:
I footed one for a toughman shoot, and it was sometimes a bear to get it out of my bag target.......

I chamfer the back of them also and more than 45 degrees.I eyeball them and they may be something like 60,but they pull well,no problems.
