OK, I am hunting caribou in Canada in a couple of weeks. What are your tricks for packing light and still having adequate gear? The airlines are getting testy!

Believe it or not they actually have small, thin quick dry towels, underwear, clothes etc. at places like Eastern Mountain Sports. The towel alone saves a lot of space over a cotton towel and is much more absorbent yet dries exceedingly fast. You can bring fewer clothes with you as you can just wash these items with a little scent free and have them dry within minutes it seems. I also have "high-tech" vests, jackets from North Face that are water resistant, warm, and take up less space than fleece. I think layers over bulk. I pick up any disposables, cheap razors, things I don't mind not taking back with me, etc. after I've arrived. Good luck on your hunt!
