Guys, I have seen a couple of threads from some ingenius hunters on how they steady their camera for the hero shot in the field.  From springy material to romex attached to a fine thread bolt.  What have you made to steady your camera.  I just bought one of the thin digital things as opposed to the large Kodak.

Please post pictures for us visual people.

The path of least resistance is what makes men and rivers crooked.

check out the gorilla pod.  Very light weight and super handy.  I think they are relatively inexpensive

Gorilla pod is a fantastic product. It is available in several sizes. I bought the small size and use it with my waterproof slim digital camera. Amazing versatility.

Yet another vote for Gorilla pod. Works great.

I just ordered the "Clip shot camera holder" (pg 62 of the 2010 master catalog), from 3Rivers this morning. It attaches to your digital camera, and clips on an arrow, which you have stuck in the ground. I'm hoping it works good, 'cause it's smaller and lighter than a tri-pod, which I have carried in the past.

Ultapod.  About 8 ounces lighter than Gorillapod.  Been using the same one for over 10 years.

I love this thing. A knock off Gorilla pod,

but allows for shots like this.

Jerry, I was wondering how that one would work.  I saw it at a local electronics store.

Hit-or-miss, I have the one that uses three arrows to support the camera.  Works okay and is very compact.  May be the same thing you are looking at.

the knock off is just as good as the "gorilla pod" like jerry has just proved:)
