Has anybody had any luck in getting Muddy to respond to the recall they had on their sticks.

I like them and used them last year, but when I called them regarding the recall, they said that they weren't ready to replace my sticks till their inventory was "up".

Boy, that sounds like a total B.S. answer....

What is the nature of the recall?  I looked at their site last year pretty hard.  Seemed to be good quality stuff.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

I just received an email from them today saying they were providing 24 hour turnaround on all sticks they received.  Drop me an email at info@lostnationarchery.com and I will forward it to you.

Website and email indicated 24 hour turnaround.  They are a very small company doing their best to deal with a manufacturing flaw on a timely basis.  Great quality stuff, just turns out that the bolts they ordered from a supplier were not the grade they were supposed to be and thus the recall.  They are busting their butts to make things right, and I think the quote about waiting to increase their inventory refers to the replacement bolts. Here is text from an update email I received today:

Quote"On the bad note, our stick recall is quite a bit more work than we dreamed possible.  We have two people working on it full time (quite a few since we don't have that many employees).  We are getting through the paperwork nightmare as quickly as possible.  However, we are still getting all the new sticks sent back within 24 hours of receiving them.  If you or anyone you know have the 2009 Muddy sticks, please contact us to get them taken care of.  You can get a refund, credit or replacement.  We have set a goal to perform the best recall in the history of the Outdoor Industry. "
Here is  info  from their website.

An update:

I just got off of the phone with Steve at Muddy and I can't say enough about how great they are in handling this recall...he said he wanted it to be the best recall experience of my life!

He also said after they send me shipment boxes for the sticks with recall shipping stickers, that once they receive my recalled sticks that it shouldn'ttake more than a week to get my new ones to me. THAT'S great service.

The lady I initially talked to evidently didn't know what she was doing or was someone NOT in the recall loop.

Wanted to give clarification here...I'll post a follow-up and let everyone know if it was all done as promised.

I've never trusted the whole genre of sticks/nesting ladders.  I used a nested ladder system before and it slipped badly. I would have broken my neck if it weren't for my monkey grip. I'll continute to use my screw-in steps.  They take more time, and are a pain in the butt, but I trust them.

I mailed my sticks to Muddy on Monday for a replacement. I like these sticks, so much so that I sold my Longwolf sticks. I still use two sets of Rapid Rails and the woodpecker drill and bolts.

I will report back when the new ones arrive.

Wow, first time I ever heard anyone suggest that screw-ins were safer than sticks. I gave up on screw-ins about 10-15 years ago when the first strap on single steps came out. Even those I felt were safer than screw-ins for a variety of reasons. My Lone Wolf Sticks are way safer than any screw-in I ever used.
