I recently picked up a copy of Fred Anderson's new book, TOXICATED-A Treasury of Archery, and am finding it tough to put down.

This book is filled with history and great stories about bow hunting and shooting the bow written by many familiar names (like the Thompson Brothers, Art Young, Chet Stevenson, etc.).  There are also numerous tales written by the not-so-familiar, and Fred begins each chapter in his own way of introducing the reader to the writer.

If you love reading about archery and bowhunting from 50-100 years ago, I bet you will like this book.

I have been reading a chapter here and there. I am saving it for around camp in hunting season. I really like what I have read so far.

Sounds good. Where is it available?
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

Hi Cliff,

The revised version of Maurice Thompson's unpublished manuscript, "Toxophilus in Arcadia" that you published is also a great read.

It seems I heard Fred mention that he owes you some credit for some of the stories in his book.

Thanks Cliff , yes we do have them in stock , still have some of the extra signed ones I had him sign when he was here at the store with Steve Gorr.
Loved the book and hated it when I ran out of chapters , this book encouraged me to dig through some of the old books I have and re read them .
Gotta love the Wilhelm boys, those two just plain had fun with bows and arrows.

Fred Anderson's new book is outstanding. One chapter after another of great historical  reading.  I read the book through the first time than started all over again. Outstanding job. Loved it.

A friend at work found his copy of Toxicated in the mail box in two days after ordering his copy from Raptor Archery. Ted has many archery related books and the latest DVD's. A great place to buy your bowhunting gear.

Sorry Ted, but I was camped right next to Fred at the Washington Trad hunters shoot last weekend and he was good enough to sign one for me. I'll get the next book from you. Frank

I love the book and Fred is about the nicest guy you will meet. Him and Steve have more stories between the two of them, it would take a life time of hunting camps to hear them all. I to was camped next to his booth but I know Fred stayed in town in a comfy bed each night. Look forward to seeing them both again soon.

Great read.  Fred is a real treasure trove of archery history and lore.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.
