The donated Bear Kodiak Hunters arrived with a bonus box of arrows

Well if you remember the donation that I was getting, which I also got an original box of Bear Archery arrows with these bows.


And yes, that one on the left had a sight window with pins, elevated rest etc......

After a bit of work on the ugly camo'd one which we will try and remove that fugly paint later.






The one is a 35# Kodiak Hunter, and the camo'd one feels like a 55# as both of these shoot nice, I put the string silentcers on after the pictures were taken.  Both bows shoot great, and are a welcome addition.

how did you make that quiver? I have a beaver hide that I would like to make a quiver out of.

I took an existing badger pelt that was sent to me that was dry and flat.  Worked it until I could get a 2x4 up the tail section as this was the largest opening on the pelt.

After a bit of working it, I took my existing quiver and slid it in.  I cut an opening for the buckel of my quiver harness and run it thru.  Folded the tail and bottom feet into the top section, and then left the head exposed at the bottom of the now quiver.  It hold real nice and secure, and sure quieted the arrows in the quiver up a lot.

The camo'd bow is a Super Kodiak, not a hunter.

It could be a '64, '65 or '66 Kodiak too.  Need to strip and find out.

Yep, my bad on the typo.  I'm already started working on that fugly camo.  It will be a nice project bringing the beauty of this bow back out.

The striping process will be slow, as I am taking my time.  The Super Kodiak is showing some nice wood under this Rustolium paint.

The Super Kodiak has the Nickel-Silver Medalion the serial number starts with KL

The Kodiak Hunter has a Nickel-Silver Medalion and starts with KZ

I guess it means that both of these bows are from circa 1971-1972
