I am a first time builder of bamboo arrows.  Here is a seemingly simple question

Which end of the bamboo shaft is the nock end and which is the point end???  These shafts are naturally tapered for the length of the shaft.  I have 100 of them and am ready to build.
Thanks for any direction.

What is the best way to cut these shafts to length?

hand saw or arrow saw will do it.

I wrap a bit of masking tape around the shaft and then use a fine coping saw to cut my mark in the middle of the tape. The tape helps keep things from splintering.
