As some of you know I love the old greenish tan bear razorheads.

I'm always on the prowl for them as they are my go to head for hunting. I have bought lots of them in that $3-4 a piece range but recently (today) came across a local archery shop that had a box of 500 brand new ones.

He was asking $7 a piece for them, is it just me or is this a steep as heck price for them? They were the standard glue ons and he did have a box of the original glue to thread adapters as well.

Whats the going rate for these things in most areas?

I usually see then for $5-6 a piece. Seven would be fair if they were in primo shape.
Just one more step please!

$5-$6 a piece buying a few maybe,BUT 500 no way.That seller lives in a fantasy world.

If I can't get them for $3 a piece I don't buy them.

Bought quit a few off **** in the past for around $5.00 each and now get them from vendors at archery shoots in my area for around the same price.

I got 3 from the St. Jude's auction for $7 and that was for a good cause!

I think he is trying to make a big buck off of the public. Guess he wants storage fees for all the years the broad heads have been collecting dust in some lost cornor.

I love the old heads but not that much. I have a healthy supply and look at everything that comes up. New condition heads $5.00 tops. Good luck.

Hmmmm,  Old been around forever, and he wants $7 each.  If your buying in bulk you should be getting a major discount.  Particularly since he in no way paid anywhere near that price per head when they were purchased.  I would chat with him and offer $4 a head with the adapter since your buying in bulk, or find another seller to buy from.

If he moves them they are worth $7.00 if not he will price them down until they sell.Plain old supply and demand been going on for thousands of years.Kip

I don't find them often, but always less than $5.

Picked up 15 good ones for $3 at NALS.  I also picked uo some rough and/or burned ones for $2 both to use and to sell at NALS.

You need to use a 2 blade B/H there.  I rolled a few points on misses but they straightened right back.  They fly great from my longbow - right to where I release them !!!

My problem is finding any razor inserts - I am down to less than a dozen now!

I have seen some new Bear B/H that are blue and only on a screw in.  Do the razor inserts fit the old style points???

I shoot the older Bear Razorheads without the inserts. Never had a problem. Great blood trails. When you say "new, blue, screw in Bear B/H" are you talking about the stainless steel heads that have been around since the late 70's, early 80's. If so the inserts that fit those should fit the older, green heads. If your truly talking about new Bear heads, I'd stay away from them. Bear Archery sold the broadhead mfg. side to another company a few years back. Not the same old Bear head for sure.  :dunno:

Hey Dennis, do you know are these from the inventory that Joe Smith, Rite Way Arrow, of Danville, had?

I used to buy about a 1/2 dozen, every year in the '80s from him. Tried to get him to sell the whole lot, but he said he had alot of "customers" who bought from him!

I would like some more of the Stainless heads made in the late '70s and '80s, too.

adeeden

Steve,
Yes they were the last box from Joe's old shop.

Believe it or not Joe's daughter sold three boxes of 500 per box for $50 a box..........sure wish I could have got in on that deal! She also sold the black widows he had for a whopping $200 each on the auction sight with a buy it now price, she had no clue what she had.

This guy bought out most of Joe's inventory. Or at least what was left after Joe's daughter sold a bunch of it for next to nothing,
