Can you use AMS safety slides and still have the plastic fletching?

Hey guys this probably sounds like a silly question but i was just wondering if you can keep the fletchings that come on a bowfishing arrow and still use the safety slides?

Nope. The slide jams up against the fletching.
The best thing to do is cut the fletching off completely. It's not needed (The line does the job of straightening the arrow anyway) and it'll make your arrow plane in the water something fierce.

you dont need fletching. Cut it off or buy arrows without it. The drag of the line acts as fletching. Won't spin the arrow but will keep it from tumbling
