It's official, we're headed back down to Virginia. I am so psyched to get back to the hills and hollers. We're going to be in the Waynesboro area and I'll definitely be looking for a trad club or just other like-minded arrow-flingers in the area.

I'd give my eye teeth to live out that way!

I'm very happy for you Kevin, I know you mentioned to me how much you'd like to go back down south...I wish you the best!

Lol....you said south I thought you meant down in this area. Deep south, Louisiana, till I read the rest of your post. Good luck! Charlie

Virginia, N Carolina are pretty states. I've been lookin' to relocate myself someplace with shorter, milder winters. Hope all goes well for you.

Glad to hear the good news Kevin.
Hope you'll still remain in touch with we Midwestern folk once you again live in Dixie.

Kevin,
If you move to Waynesboro give a shout out, I am about 14 miles noth of there and always welcome stick shooters to join up with. No trad clubs per se but plenty of 3d shoots. When you get here pm me and we can get together. Looking forward to meeting up.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Come on down real south. Today 86 degree with 90% humidity mosquitoes the size of geese. Sucks here until September when killing seasons start  :archer2:

I appreciate it guys!

Dan, I'll miss the MTA shoots, as much as anything up here. Keep up the good work and I may have to bring some guys up for the Poke~N~Hope in a year or two.

Tom, I'll definitely give you a shout. I have a couple of buddies in Waynesboro that I converted to trad back when I lived in Fishersville, so there'll be a couple of us.

PapaFrank, take care of yourself my friend. I'll be back on here as soon as we get settled.

Fred,
as long as you keep coming up with the sweet stuff for sale and the sage advice, you'll always hear from me. I'll be logging off in the beginning of June, but I will be back once I get everything unpacked and up and running.

Thanks guys, and Killie    ;)

Kevin, I love just across the mountain from Tom. We have a small club that shoots every Monday evening near Charlottesville. Give me a yell when you make it down, you are more than welcome to join in the fun.

Kevin L.

Allen, Thanks! I'll get with you once we get everything moved down and set up. I'm looking at places with 3 or more acres, gonna put me out some of those fake deer    :readit:

Man, we got a heck of a lot of stuff to do in the next couple of months, but it's going to be worth it. Ain't gonna live north of the Mason/Dixon again. Blackflies are out right now and they'll plumb carry you off hee at the house.

"Ain't gonna live north of the Mason/Dixon again."

:D  As many people have moved into NC over the last 20 years there must be a bunch that feel that same way.     ;)

I wish about half of them around here would change there mind about it.Might not need 6 lane roads every where you go.   :)
....Quality deer management means shooting them before they get tough....

Kevin L.

I understand. Lot's of places in the Carolina's and Tennessee are getting that way. I figure between a stint in ND in the USAF and 5 1/2 years in Maine, I've done my time. Virginia is far enough north to have a winter and far enough south it doesn't last 5-6 months. Sounds just right to me, lol.

Art, it's good to hear from you. How's the leatherworking going? I still have and hunt with the armguard you made for me.

You never know, I may show up in a year or two at the Poke~N~Hope with a truckload of guys from Virginia. I will still be coming up to guide both fly fishing and hunting, especially since we have one of the few areas where the deer yards haven't been cut over.
